Summer is starting to wind down here in New England, and whether you are celebrating the last dog days of summer or the start of a new school year, an exceptional company is getting ready to celebrate a huge milestone. New England Coffee, which was founded in 1916, is celebrating 100 years of serving amazing coffee to extraordinary people! 100 years! After 100 years of dedication New England Coffee definitely has the roasting expertise to ensure freshness as well as consistently balanced flavor in every cup!
How are they celebrating 100 years? Well New England Coffee redesigned their website and it is beautiful! The New England Coffee Shop makes it so easy to find a huge variety of blends and flavors New England Coffee offers. And while they may be a small company they offer both bagged and single serve options! Be sure to check out www.newenglandcoffee.com as well as your local grocery store to find the perfect coffee that fits both your taste and brewing needs!
New England Coffee has proven since 1916 a dedication to the products they offer as well as to the extraordinary people who both make and drink their coffee. Check out this video too see how even after 100 years New England Coffee continues to serve great coffee to extraordinary people.
And I’m helping New England Coffee celebrate by offering you extraordinary people 4 delicious ways to enjoy Cold Brew Coffee! To make all these delicious treats I used New England Coffee’s new Centennial Reserve made from 100% Arabica coffee beans from Kenya and Ethiopia. This delicious blend (which they released just for the 100 year celebration!) delivers a coffee that is rich in body, bold and smooth…aka a perfect blend for cold brew!
Cold Brew for 2
What you need:
- French Press
- 9 TBSP ground New England Coffee Centennial Reserve
- 1 – 16.9 ounce bottle water at room temperature
Into your french press measure your 9 TBSP ground coffee and pour your bottle of water on top. Mix together with a spoon until all the coffee grounds are wet. Let sit out at room temperature for 12-14 hours. Push down your french press filter and pour your cold brew over ice and serve! Can store in a glass pitcher in the fridge for about a week (but it probably won’t last that long with all these yummy recipes to follow!)
Mocha Fudge Pops
What you need:
- ice pop mold
- 1 TBSP cornstarch
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup Cold Brew made with New England Coffee Centennial Reserve
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- pinch of salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
In a medium sauce pan whisk together the cornstarch and milk. Add the coffee, heavy cream, sugar, cocoa powder and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil while continually whisking (as to not scorch the bottom) over medium high heat. Once boiling continue whisking for 1 minute. This is not a moment where you should skimp on the time…set a timer if you have to! When the timer goes off remove from the heat and pour into a glass measuring cup. At this point you want to add your vanilla extract. Carefully pour into 6 ice pop molds being sure to not overfill. Insert your popsicle sticks and freeze for at least 6 hours. Briefly run your ice pop mold under hot water to easily release your Mocha Fudge Pop!
Affogato a’ la Cold Brew
What you need:
- 2 scoops chocolate ice cream
- 2 TBSP Cold Brew made with New England Coffee Centennial Reserve
- fresh whipped cream
- chocolate bar for chocolate shavings
In your ice cream glass scoop 2 scoops of your favorite chocolate ice cream. Pour the cold brew over the ice cream. Yes, a traditional affogato uses hot espresso. But when the summer temperatures are already making everything melt, adding the cold brew allows you to actually cool off with the ice cream! Top with fresh whipped cream and chocolate shavings (use a cheese grater and a bar of chocolate).
Vietnamese Cold Brew
What you need:
- lots of ice
- 1 serving Cold Brew made with New England Coffee Centennial Reserve
- sweetened condensed milk to taste (about 1-2 TBSP)
Pour the cold brew over your ice. Spoon in as little or as much sweetened condensed milk as your sweet tooth desires. Stir well (I find using a small whisk works wonders!) Sip or chug 🙂
