I’ve been working on decorating my potting table for Christmas. My inspiration this year is woodland but it needed a little touch of shimmer. I added some flocked greenery but also figured I’d jazz up my wood bead strand with some Plaid paint. Within 15 minutes I had added the perfect soft touch and shimmer to the beads and therefore completing my Christmas potting table.
I really kept it simple when making my painted wood bead strand. I used a premade strand I purchased at my local craft store. Instead of painting every bead, I left some of the natural beads and only painted accent beads.
Using sheets of wax paper I was able to complete my painting project right there on my potting table. Keeping this simple really does encourage me to get the project finished. And within 15 minutes I had my accent beads painted on my painted wood bead garland. I chose Martha Steward Rose Gold Metallic, Martha Stewart Gold Metallic and Martha Stewart Glitter Paint in Smokey Quartz.
Since my project took such little time I decided to also add a little color to a large pinecone I had in my display. I used the Rose Gold Metallic and lightly bushed the tip of each scale.
