This post was brought to you by Stonyfield Yogurt and Badger Balm.
This weekend is suppose to be a scorcher! Actually this entire week is going to be above 90 every single day. So to beat the heat we decided to wake up bright and early this morning and head to our favorite beach. We arrived to Jenness State Beach just before 8AM to find that we weren’t the only ones who had the idea to come early to beat the rush. Thankfully we were able to find a close parking spot after only waiting in line for a few moments.
Since we were arriving so early I decided to bring the boys in their pjs and change them once we had settled into a parking space. Soon after swimsuits were on we found the perfect spot on the sandy beach and sat down for breakfast. I knew the boys would be too excited to really sit and eat but had packed their favorite Stonyfield Yogurt Pouches which guaranteed they’d eat something. These pouches have been a go to in our family since Carter was first eating yogurt at 6 months old (they come in Whole Milk and Low Fat).
Once little tummies were fueled the boys were off to explore. Since it was only 8AM I let them have some time before I wrangled them in to apply sunscreen…a task that all moms just love doing 😉 There is honestly so much to do on NH beaches. The sand is soft and warm scattered with all sorts of treasures from the sea. Jenness State Beach is the exact beach I grew up going to so of coarse it’s the main one our family visits now that we have children of our own.
Search for sea glass:
Growing up I would spend countless hours searching for sea glass with my grandma. The most common colors we find are brown, white and green. But today the ocean had an extra special gift for us…blue! I’ve only ever found one piece of blue sea glass and it was so small in comparison to what we found today!
Come to find out the boys found sometime I had never discovered on NH beaches…a hermit crab! This little guy entertained the boys for the longest time. I also love this picture as it’s one of the few where the boys actually look like brothers. 😉
Wave jumping:
Hour and hours and hours of wave jumping. Sadly we forgot our boogy board at home today but that didn’t keep the boys from spending countless hours in the ocean. This beach has always been perfect for splashing in the waves as it is very gradual until it gets too deep. Also the big waves seem to stay out far enough and break before getting too close to shore (unless a storm is coming).
Catching some rays:
The boys got so much time with their daddy which gave this mama a chance to catch some rays. When the tide is out this beach is huge! I was able to sit back and enjoy a book, a rare thing for a mom of boys! And my whole family was able to stay protected from harmful rays with the help of Badger Balm Sunscreen. Their sunscreen is certified natural and organic and the kids version smells like a creamsicle! You can find out more here.
Playing in the sand:
When you are a mom of boys your beach trips involve buckets for carrying home treasure and construction trucks. We’ve tried the cute sand castle molds and the sort, but boys will be boys and building roads and digging holes always wins over princess castles!
Chasing seagulls:
Ahh to be a kid again. Nothing beats watching a carefree child chase seagulls. I have to say though that this beach is not loaded with seagulls. A few pesky ones here and there but overall they leave you (and your food) alone.
Did I mention my boys love Stonyfield Pouches? I made sure to pack more in our cooler for a snack break later in the morning. They really are our favorite on-the-go snack that the boys love and mama feels go about letting them enjoy! Be sure to check out pouches for your family as well as all the other baby and kid friendly yogurts Stonyfield has to offer. You can find more information on their website by clicking here!
And now for even more pictures from our day trip to Jenness Beach. After all the sea salt air, I’m off to bed with sun kissed skin, lowered stress levels, and beautiful memories from a day at our favorite NH beach.
With love and happy day tripping!

What coast are you near? New England beaches are definitely in a category all on their own 😉
