Today I made GG’s Amish Apple Crumb Bread. I wasn’t planning on baking today. Instead I was putting together a Reel of some of my favorite recipes when I came across these video clips of me sitting at m grandma’s kitchen table and going through her recipe box back in 2019. One thing led to another and I found myself pulling out the recipe this morning to try for myself.
Unfortunately as I was mixing up the final ingredients I realized something was not right! It was definitely not the consistency of bread batter but instead like cookie dough. Turns out the recipe card called for only 2 TBSP of milk. Since I can’t call GG anymore I called my mom and together we figure out she must have meant 1/2 cup + 2 TBSP. GG is subtly reminding me from Heaven that she is a better baker than I’ll ever be. 🫣
