Who else here has been tackling project after project in their house lately? I think I currently have about 4 projects in the works…which made today the perfect day to add an additional project to the mix! A box of pink peony wall murals recently delivered and a bag of Huy Fong Sriracha Almonds to snack on and I was ready to go.
Let’s first talk about my choice of snack for project time. When my bag of Huy Fong Sriracha Almonds arrived I opened the package and before taking a bite looked at Lou and asked “do I like Sriracha?” His response was “not sure but I sure do! These almonds sound amazing!” I mean I like things with a kick…but I also don’t want it being so hot that I have to take a sip of water after every bite. So I took a bite and my eyes must have bugged out a little because Lou immediately asked “too hot?” No! Not at all! These almonds are AMAZING! (I let him taste a few then hid the bag on him when he wouldn’t stop talking about how tasty they were…these almonds are mine!)
Huy Fong Sriracha Almonds have made it so that healthy snacks don’t require sacrifice such as lack of flavor. These premium California almonds are roasted in peanut oil making perfectly crunchy with bold Sriracha flavor. Other almond snacks imitate the Sriracha flavor but Huy Fong Sriracha Almonds use the official and authentic Huy Fong brand sauce and Huy Fong Sriracha Seasoning. You guys, these almonds are so good! The perfect, spicy snack.
You’ll notice in these pictures I have my almonds in a little milk glass bowl on my desk. I was nice enough to leave behind said bowl for my husband who has taken over my office while working from home. I figured it was the least I could do as I was just finishing putting up this pink peony wall mural which would now show up as the background to all his video conference calls!
As far as the peony wall mural, I have been wanting to hang one of these since I first pinned similar years ago. This big, blank, grey wall between my two window in my office was the perfect canvas! It was beyond easy and took a little over an hour from start to finish. The most time consuming part was cutting out the pieces so I could easily align them in the pattern of my choice. Here are some hints if you ever decide to hang a floral mural!
- Precut the mural shapes getting rid of any extra paper backing. This will help you get a better idea of the exact placement of your mural pieces.
- Make sure your wall is clean and dry. One of the top complaints was that it wouldn’t stick and dust/grime is usually the problem. Also the directions said to wait a few weeks if freshly painted before hanging.
- Measure the area of the wall before laying out your design on the floor. At first I was spacing my pieces too far apart and it wouldn’t have fit. A simple measurement helped fix this problem!
- Use painters tape to get the alignment just perfect on the wall.
- Layer the pieces…it gives the mural depth and character.
- When attaching start with the furthest set pieces and work your way forward. While the mural I got could be peeled and stuck again, this just made it super easy walking back to front.
- For the largest pieces peel the backing from top to bottom only a little at a time. It is way too difficult dealing with an almost two foot large sticker!
I’m so excited for how it turned out! Perfect snack time project if I do say so myself.
