Root Beer Floats with Gifford’s Ice Cream + free printable

What does your family celebrate? Do you celebrate accomplishments, holidays, the out of the ordinary? For the McCoy family we celebrate any chance we can get. Graduated from college? Let’s celebrate. Lost a tooth? Celebrate. Only 3 Mondays left to the school year? Definitely celebrating. And our favorite thing to celebrate? Well to give you a hint my husband has always joked that Jenn’s very favorite holiday is whatever the next holiday is. So every holiday, whether big or small, definitely gets celebrated in our home.

And one thing that’s the same regardless of what we are celebrating is you had better guarantee that there is Gifford’s ice cream involved. We love ice cream so much that several years ago when Lou graduated with his bachelors I hosted an ice cream sundae and root beer float party. Ahh root beer floats. We literally had grown men giddy over having a root beer float and the common statement was they couldn’t remember the last time they had one.

Well it has been a while since we’ve had root beer floats (actually come to think of it his graduation party might have been the last time.) So everyone was quite excited when I announced that Memorial Day 2021 would feature root beer floats with Gifford’s ice cream. But note to self…do not purchase the Gifford’s Old Fashioned Vanilla ice cream needed for floats until the day you need to take pictures for a blog post.  Or there is a good chance you may need to run back to the store to buy more (not pointing fingers…Louis…)
